If you have a strong-willed child, listen to this author's advice if you want your kid to get worse. If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The New Strong-Willed Child? Would you be willing to try another one of John Fuller’s performances? Dobson have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you? This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?Ĭhristians, with no proclivity for critical thinking. This book was of little to no value to me.
I was so excited to read this book to get insights and found myself even more frustrated by hearing how Dobson delivered. I laughed at the examples she gave as many of them I had encountered and handled in a way that eas not helpful.then she offered solutions that made sense and I immediately played out.It was the first time I ever felt a sense of control over my emotions and kids and we had peace. After reading How to Listen So little kids will talk and talk so little kids will listen by Adrienne Farber, she offered SO many helpful points that I was able to put in place immediately and see results from my 2 boys. I don't just want their obedience, but a true heart understanding of why. Authoritarian in nature, but not fully dealing with the heart and emotions of a child. Dobson offers many anecdotes as to how things shouldn't be, and how they should, but few "hows." Also, stories are very narrow and don't really cover the true issues of a strong willed child.
